Keeping it clean

Never forget the dust travels.

I recently was involved in an addition project where one of the first tasks was to take down a brick chimney. The exterior was removed first in a very careful and methodical process. Then came the interior. Before beginning the process of brick by brick removal of the firebox and hearth we set up a dust containment area. The poles hold the plastic from floor to ceiling then we taped all along the edges with tape.

The picture attached shows a partial setup as we had already removed the ceiling tape before I snapped the photo. Its difficult to contain the dust 100% however diligence and consideration prevail.
